shipping-policy
01
Shipping & Fulfillment
Ride PAS should clearly explain whether each order will be shipped to the customer, prepared for local pickup, or supported through both options. Complete e-bikes, batteries and oversized products may require different handling from smaller accessories, so the final policy should describe any product-specific restrictions. Customers should also know which delivery regions are supported, what carrier or service level may be used, and whether assembled bikes can be shipped directly to a residential address. If local pickup is the main fulfillment method, that should be communicated before checkout so the customer understands exactly how they will receive the bike.
02
Processing Times
Processing time should describe the period between receiving the order and the point when it is ready to ship or collect. For bikes marked Available to Order, Ride PAS may first need to receive the bike from the manufacturer before assembly and preparation can begin. Current project direction mentions approximately 3–4 days subject to manufacturer availability, but that timing should be confirmed before publishing. Weekends, holidays, manufacturer stock, high order volume and special-order products may extend the estimate, so the policy should separate estimated processing time from carrier transit time.
03
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs should be explained in a way that makes it clear whether charges depend on the product type, destination, package size or selected service. If bikes, batteries or oversized items have different rates from standard accessories, customers should see that distinction before completing the order. Any free-shipping threshold, local delivery fee, destination surcharge or special handling charge should be disclosed once the client confirms it. The final page should also explain whether taxes are included in the displayed price or calculated separately at checkout.
04
Tracking & Updates
Customers should know when they will receive an order confirmation, shipment confirmation and tracking information, and whether those updates arrive by email, SMS or another method. If an order is being prepared for local pickup instead of shipment, Ride PAS should send a separate ready-for-pickup message rather than standard shipping tracking. The policy should also tell customers what to do if tracking has not updated for an unusual amount of time or if the delivery status appears incorrect. Keeping these updates simple and consistent will make the order journey easier to understand.
05
Delays & Availability
Manufacturer availability, weather, carrier disruptions, address problems and seasonal demand can all affect delivery or pickup timing. Ride PAS should avoid presenting estimated manufacturer or carrier dates as guaranteed arrival dates unless the business can support that commitment. Purchase availability should also stay separate from test-ride availability, since a bike may be orderable even when no demo model is available. When a significant delay occurs, the customer should receive the most current information available and a clear explanation of the next practical step.
06
Damaged or Missing Shipments
The policy should give customers a simple process for reporting visible shipping damage, missing items or a package that shows as delivered but cannot be found. Customers should be encouraged to keep the packaging, avoid using visibly damaged products and take clear photos so the issue can be documented properly. The final version should confirm the reporting deadline, required evidence, carrier claim process and the correct Ride PAS support contact. It should also explain whether Ride PAS, the shipping carrier or the manufacturer will coordinate the next step in each type of issue.
07
Local Pickup
If local pickup is available, customers should be told that Ride PAS will contact them after the bike has arrived, been checked, assembled where applicable and is ready to collect. They should not travel to the showroom until they receive a ready-for-pickup confirmation. The policy can also explain what order confirmation or identification should be brought when collecting the bike and whether another person may collect on the buyer's behalf. If free assembly is confirmed as part of the Ride PAS offer, mention that clearly so the customer knows what condition the bike will be in at pickup.
